I had a delightful dining experience with the dinner I ordered from the River Bistro. The Chicken Caesar wrap and the spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The wrap was perfectly seasoned, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The spring rolls were crispy and filled with a tasty combination of ingredients. The presentation was impeccable, and the delivery service was prompt. I would highly recommend these dishes to anyone staying at the hotel. It truly added to the enjoyment of my stay

Fun after concert gathering. Reasonable draft beer prices. Bar food was good, got the sampler platter, except skip the fried Brussel sprouts. I ordinarily like them, but not coated and deep fried. A soggy mess.

Most of the food are good, I only went here twice, not a busy place, but the waiting time it’s a little slow consider how slow the place is. I still recommend this place though.

Best kept secret in Binghamton. I am hoping my review helps to change that. I think most of their issue is they are inside the DoubleTree hotel which prevents your average local from coming upon the place to eat. They seem to only draw in hotel patrons to eat. Bonus to this set back is you'll never have to worry about parking while still eating down town. Great atmosphere and look. You can relax at the bar or have a traditional sit down meal. Even though it is a nicer place, because it is in the hotel and accept all comers and goers, there is no specific dress code. This means you can dress up for a nice night out, or down for comfort and neither will put you out of place. They had a live musician there last night which was a nice element. Food and service was top notch. Alisha was our server. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. You can see what we ate in the pictures below. The crayfish mac and cheese and fried string beans were my favorite, but it was all delicious. My only issues were the chairs, but that will only affect large people like myself, and the creme brulee, but that is a preference thing that won't bother many people. So the chairs you can see on the picture has the metal legs come up above the seat so if your base is any wider than the seat by even a little they dig into you. The creme brulee had a coffee like taste which some people might like the unique take on the classic dish, but I am one of the rare people on Earth who hate coffee.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our delicious dinner this evening. One never knows if a restaurant inside a hotel will be good. All four of us (two adults and two teens) enjoyed our dinners and even stayed for yummy desserts. It was a wide enough variety to please everyone and the service was great.

I enjoyed sitting at the bar for an early dinner last night. The IPA beer I had (green alligator draft handle) was quite nice. The food was okay and not anything to rave about … I ordered the Brussel Sprouts Appetizer and the Bartender was kind and took it away and off my bill. The Brussel Sprouts were grossly overcooked to the point of mushiness. The main course I ordered was a Bistro Bowl, Pineapple Fajita which didn’t have any pineapple in any quantity. The grilled flank steak was overcooked but still flavorful … over all this dish was tasty even with the shortfalls. I would eat there again and be very specific with whoever is taking the order on how I want my food prepared. I took a slice of their chocolate cake home and it was the best. Give the River Bistro a try … you will enjoy the atmosphere and the food is above average which is terrific. LIVE LOVE LAUGH ALWAYS … ????????

It was fine. The food was generous and tasted fine. Nothing really blew me away. I was staying at the hotel and was given a 15% off coupon, but the coupon wasn't used by my server, and I'm not exactly sure why. I had it out right on the table but it was ignored so... Not sure, what happened there. I probably should have spoken up and asked, but the meal didn't cost that much so I just let it go. I found it odd that they had specials on the board outside the restaurant, but even though it was only Wednesday, they were already out of things that were still advertised. I would have liked a larger wine list. Breakfast was very good. I chose to order off of the menu instead of the buffet and really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The egg was cooked perfectly and the home fries were fine. All in all, I would eat here again if staying at the hotel for breakfast, but I might explore some of the other places in downtown Binghamton for dinner.

Nestled within the DoubleTree hotel at 225 Water St, Binghamton, River Bistro offers a refined yet approachable dining experience that delights both hotel guests and local food enthusiasts. Despite its somewhat hidden location, the bistro's warm atmosphere, combined with excellent service and thoughtfully crafted dishes, makes it a true culinary gem in the heart of downtown Binghamton.

The highlight of my visit was the impeccable balance between flavor and presentation. The Chicken Caesar wrap stands out with its tender, perfectly seasoned chicken wrapped in fresh, crisp greens, pairing wonderfully with the equally delightful spring rolls that offer a satisfying crunch and a harmonious blend of ingredients. These dishes exemplify River Bistro’s attention to detail and quality.

For those drawn to more adventurous bar fare, the sampler platter provides a variety of tastes, showcasing the kitchen's versatility, though a minor note on the fried Brussels sprouts—they were less successful when deep-fried without a crisp coating. Still, this does little to overshadow an otherwise well-rounded menu.

The ambiance is versatile, catering equally well to casual after-concert gatherings and elegant dinners, amplified by occasional live music that enhances the overall dining mood. The lack of a strict dress code encourages comfort and ease, making it accessible without sacrificing sophistication.

Standout dishes like the crayfish mac and cheese and fried string beans reveal a creative edge behind the scenes, with a perfect blend of southern comfort and fresh local ingredients. Service at River Bistro receives high praise, exemplified by attentive and knowledgeable staff who elevate the entire experience.

Despite minor critiques regarding seating comfort and unique dessert takes such as the coffee-flavored crème brûlée, the overall culinary journey at River Bistro is marked by flavorful innovation and consistency. It’s a place that not only satisfies your palate but also enriches your stay in Binghamton with its welcoming vibe and quality dining.
